CHS Launches New Website

We are pleased to announce the launch of the new CHS website.  Per the district strategic plan, all school sites will be upgraded over the coming school year to comply with Federal ADA requirements, and bring new mobile functionality to our visitors.

For the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Riverview School District will continue to provide  COVID-19 related information and resources on the ENGAGE website and linked via COVID-19 in the menu above.

There are a number of reasons for our upgraded sites, including:

  1. ADA compliance

  2. Mobile functionality

  3. Cloud based and integrated

  4. Streamlined communication

  5. Privacy and security

ADA compliance adds the accessibility "widget" to the website that allows the user to increase font, use high-contrast, utilize reader bars, and much more.

The old district website was not scaled for use on mobile devices, nor was it possible to make it so.

The old district website was based on local, in-house servers that are impacted by power outages. This new site is cloud-based for a much higher service uptime.

Visitors can now subscribe to the news feed to receive notification of district news.

The new site uses https (SSL Encryption), which was not possible on the old site.

If you have any questions regarding the site changes you can reach out to Christopher Collins, Director of Information Technology, Mike Ward, Director of Communications, or Christal Dixon, CHS Webmaster.
